Press Release 10/10/09 Lady Eagles win State Title
The Huntington Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball team won the State Championship match with the Goshen Blue Blazers 25-21, 20-25, 15-13, on Saturday 10/10/09 at the Indiana State Home School Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Eagles entered the Varsity Tournament as the Number 2 Seed. They were 15-2 in regular season matches, with an end of the season loss that may have reset their focus for their State Championship run. The Goshen Blue Blazers were the Number 1 Seed, with their amazing 14 year old, Azariah Stahl, who is already being looked at by NCAA Division One Colleges. Their tough schedule included Christian Schools and IHSAA Public Schools, and they had only met one other Home School team in a Tournament during their season. The Indiana State Home School Volleyball Tournament was held at Spiece Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne on Friday & Saturday October 9-10.
The Huntington Eagles Sports Club coordinated this exciting event.
Twelve Varsity teams, Twelve Junior Varsity teams and Eight Junior High teams all played for a State Championship!

Press Release 10/6/09 Eagles overcome by Crusaders
The Lady Eagles traveled to Plymouth for their last regular season match with the Lady Crusaders on Tuesday, October 6th. Junior High lost their match and finished their season 2-6.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles lost their challenging match 2-3, scoring 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 17-25 and 11-15.
The Eagles served 78/97 (80%). The Wildcats served 98/103 (95%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are 15-2 in matches and 47-16 in games.
Press Release 10/2/09 Eagles hold off Wildcats
They celebrated SENIOR NIGHT with the MCAC Wildcats at the Salamonie School Gym on Friday October 2nd.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won the match 3-2, scoring 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 17-25 and 15-4. The Junior High Eagles lost their match and are 2-5 this season. Rebecca Daniels was honored as the lone Senior for the Lady Eagles this year. Her parents are Terry and Melinda Daniels of Warren, IN. She plans to attend Taylor University in Upland and play Basketball for Coach Tena Krause of the Lady Trojans.
The Eagles served 75/104 (72%), and delivered 102/115 attacks (88%) over the net. The Wildcats served 74/95 (77%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are 15-1 in matches and 45-13 in games.

The Lady Eagles hosted the Fort Wayne Falcons at Horace Mann School Gym on Thursday, October 1st.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won the match 3-1, scoring 25-15, 20-25, 25-11 and 25-12.
The Eagles did better serving 77/94 (81%), and delivered 113/128 attacks (88%) over the net. The Falcons served 53/62 (85%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are 14-1 in matches and 42-11 in games.

The Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball team had a rematch with the W.A.C.H.E. Lady Warriors at 6:00 P.M. Friday 9/11/09.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won 3 games 25-18, 25-16 and 25-19. The Warriors, playing without All-State Middle Hitter Aisha Gerber, made a valiant effort.
The Eagles only served 53/74 (71%) and delivered 60/73 (82%) over the net. The Warriors served 46/54 (85%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 9-1 for the season.

The Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball team faced the Anderson Angels at the Salamonie School Gym in Warren at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday 9/8/09.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles started with a 25-11 win, then followed with 25-15 and 25-16.
Huntington served 49/61 (80%) and delivered 58/74 (78%) over the net. Anderson served 38/42 (90%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 8-1 this season.

Press Release 9/4/09 Eagles battle with Emmanuel Eagles
The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball faced the Emmanuel Christian School Eagles of Wabash for the second time this season.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles fought through their most competitive match yet to win 3-2. The first game showed the intensity with ties at 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 the Eagles lost 22-25. They took control of the second game 25-14, then struggled in the third from a 17-17 tie to lose 23-25. The fourth game saw a dominating start of 18-5 evaporate to a 24-24 tie before two Emmanuel errors gave Huntington the victory. The fifth game started with a 6-6 tie, then an Emmanuel error gave Kelsey the serve. She served to a 12-6 lead with 3 aces, a Block and Kill from Kaleigh and from Rebecca. Emmanuel got the serve on a hit into the net by Rebecca, but on their serve she fed it back to them through the block and to the floor. Rebecca served the last 2 points, a Kill by Marina and a final error by Emmanuel to end the Match.
Huntington only served 89/110 (80%) and delivered 139/164 (84%) over the net. Emmanuel served 83/95 (87%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 7-1 for the season.

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team traveled to the Concordia Seminary Gym on Tuesday 9/1/09 at 7:00 P.M, to meet the Fort Wayne Falcons, a Homeschool team from the Northern part of Fort Wayne.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won the first 2 games 25-17 and 25-19, then collapsed in the 3rd game from a 13-13 tie to fall 17-25. They rebounded in the 4th game taking the lead from an 8-8 tie to a 25-19 victory and won the match 3-1.
The Eagles only served 75/90 (83%) and delivered 137/155 (88%) over the net. The Warriors served 70/81 (86%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 6-1 for the season.

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Indianapolis to face the Wabash Valley Warriors on Monday 8/31/09 at 6:30 P.M. at the Capitol Sports Center, in Plainfield. The Warriors are an Homeschool team from the Terre Haute area.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles dropped an intense first game 21-25. Yet, held on to win the next 3 games 25-16, 25-22 and 25-23 to claim the match.
The Eagles only served 75/95 (78%) and delivered 130/152 (85%) over the net. The Warriors served 75/87 (86%). The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 5-1 for the season.

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Bluffton to face their nemesis the W.A.C.H.E. Warriors at the Life Community Gym (the old Bluffton High School) on Friday 8/28/09 at 7:00 P.M.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles lost 3 intense games. The first game was 21-25. The Eagles got behind early, and were down by as much as 6-17, but slowly worked back to 21-23 on an Ace from Kelsey, then dropped the last 2 points. The second was even tied at 15, 16, 17 and 18 before the Eagles were overcome 21-25. The third finished at 19-25, with ties at 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17.
The Eagles only served 46/61 (75%) and delivered 76/90 (84%) over the net. The Warriors served 60/73 (82%).

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team hosted the F.I.S.H. Shining Stars from Fulton County at the Salamonie School Gym on Tuesday 8/25/09 at 7:00 PM.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won 3 games. The first game was 25-19. The second was tied at 2, 3, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 before the Eagles ran off the last seven points to end 25-18. The third finished at 25-11. The Eagles only served 56/74 and hit 65/73. The Stars served 41/49. The Varsity Lady Eagles are now 4-0 for the season.

Press Release 8/21/09 Eagles overcome Emmanuel Christian 3-2
The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Wabash to play the Emmanuel Christian Eagles at the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church and School Gym at 7:00 PM Friday 8/21/09.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles took all five games to overcome a determined Emmanuel squad. Service and attack errors plagued the Huntington team. They made only 73 of 99 serves and placed only 111 of 137 hits over the net and in bounds. In contrast Emmanuel was able to serve 83 of 93. They won the first game 25-17, then the second 25-19. In the third game Huntington was playing catch-up from a 3-3 tie, and were only down 13-16 when they experienced a series of errors to lose 13-25. They started the fourth game fighting back from a 2-7 deficit to a tie at 17 and 18, but fell short 22-25. The fifth game started with ties at 3 and 5, then Huntington pulled away, ending the game and the match at 15-9 on an Ace from Deborah. Huntington now 3-0 for the season.

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Granger to play the MCAC (Mishawaka Christian Athletic Club) Wildcats at the Granger Missionary Church Gym at 7:00 PM Tuesday 8/18/09. The Lady Wildcats are a newly formed Volleyball team, which includes a few players who have had previous experience on other Homeschool teams.
The Varsity Huntington Lady Eagles won the first game 25-21, then the second 25-14 and held on to win the third 25-23 for the match. They are now 2-0 for the season.

Press Release 8/13/09 Eagles win season opener
The Lady Eagles Volleyball Varsity Volleyball team opened their season by hosting the Lady Crusaders from Plymouth, Indiana. The Lady Crusaders are the two time defending Indiana State Homeschool Varsity Volleyball Champions. The Crusaders only return 3 of their 10 player rotation from last year. The Eagles did not graduate any from last season.
