Junior High

For Jr. High aged athletes (14 and under as of September 1,
2009).
This year, with 8 JH teams, we will play a seeded
tournament, with each team playing 3 matches out to eight places.
Junior High (14
& under) The teams will play a bracketed no-elimination seeded
tournament. JH Tournament
matches will be two games to 25 (cap of 25). Total points will determine win (in case of tie, a 3
point play off will be allowed, with first serve determined by referee
standards)
The Championship match will be the best two out of three
games, with the first and second game to 25 (win by 2) and a third game, if
necessary, to 15 (win by 2).
Top (first) team listed is Home team and will get choice of bench. Second team listed will be the Visiting team and will call the coin toss before the match, to get
choice of serve or receive.
The scoreboards may be across the opposite court. Court 5 may use Scoreboard 6, Court 6
may use Scoreboard 5, Court 7 may use Scoreboard 8 and Court 8 may use
Scoreboard 7.
Game Ball—A game
ball will be provided by the Tournament.
Line Judges—Each team is asked to provide one adult line judge for each of their matches.
Schedule—In order
to complete the tournament in a reasonable fashion, start times will begin as
listed, or as soon as possible thereafter. We ask that coaches keep their teams in the facility, so
that we can start matches on time, or earlier if the referee and coaches agree. Keep it moving!
Normal Time Outs will be allowed (2/game).
Warm-up—Each team
will get a 7 & 1/2 minute warm-up on the court before playing their FIRST
match. Thereafter, it will be a 2
minute shared warm-up on court for both teams.
Awards— There will be metals for First and Second place, and
ribbons for each place 3rd - 8th.
